Stopped in at Be Kind Coffee while waiting on an oil change, and it ended up being the perfect little break in my morning. I grabbed a latte and a breakfast bagel, found a quiet corner, and just settled in with my book. The vibe was relaxed, the coffee was smooth, and the food hit the spot. Really enjoyed my time there.

Where Waco Goes to Feel Something (Not Just Get Coffee)
Be Kind Coffee doesn’t just serve coffee—it removes friction from being a person in public.
Before even stepping inside, the experience starts doing its work. The exterior is clear, simple, and unintimidating—“Coffee, Bagels, Cookies.” No guessing, no overthinking. Add in easy parking, and the decision to walk in becomes almost automatic. That matters more than most shops realize.
Inside, the shift is immediate.
The bright yellow floors, playful mural of smiling coffee cups, and soft, natural light create something rare: a space that doesn’t ask anything from you. You don’t have to perform, impress, or even know what you’re doing. You can just exist.
And people do.
The communal tables stay full. Strangers sit close without tension. Some are working, some are talking, some are just sitting—and somehow it all works together. The layout quietly encourages interaction without forcing it, which is why the energy feels alive but never overwhelming.
Behind the counter, the operation is efficient but intentionally out of the spotlight. There’s no oversized machine dominating the experience. The focus stays on the room, the people, and the movement—not the mechanics of coffee-making. It’s subtle, but it changes everything.
The menu leans into personality over precision—banana pudding lattes, trippy combinations, playful names that invite curiosity instead of routine ordering. Even here, the goal isn’t just to serve—it’s to engage.
But the real engine is the community layer.
The Polaroid wall, filled with names and moments, turns customers into participants. The run club—meeting multiple times a week with a built-in incentive—creates rhythm, routine, and return visits. This isn’t just traffic. It’s habit.
And it shows up in the data.
Words like “latte,” “bagel,” and “matcha” are expected. But “atmosphere,” “running,” and even “tears” tell a deeper story—people aren’t just consuming here, they’re feeling something. That emotional response starts before the coffee even hits the table.
That’s the difference.
Most coffee shops focus on product and hope people stay.
Be Kind built a place where people want to stay—and the coffee supports that, not the other way around.
⸻
What It’s Best For:
• Casual drop-ins with no pressure
• Meeting people or being around people without forcing interaction
• Light work, conversations, or just sitting in a good environment
⸻
What It’s Not For:
• Deep focus or quiet, isolated work
• Quick in-and-out coffee runs
• Highly structured or formal meeting environments
⸻
Final Thought:
Some places serve great coffee.
Others make it easy to come back.
Be Kind does both—but it’s the second one that keeps it full.

The base price of a 16oz (their smallest size) matcha here is 7 bucks- if you add a syrup it adds another dollar. I paid 8 bucks for a vanilla matcha with whole milk (plus tip) fully expecting that the matcha would be at a standard that matched the price. Sadly, this was not the case. The matcha came out pale and not well incorporated. If you’re looking for high quality matcha beverages, look elsewhere.

Love the coffee, and the matcha is my favorite! But every time I come, especially on Sunday mornings, the line is super long and slow. There are usually only two girls working one taking orders and one making drinks which just isn’t enough. I’ve driven 20 minutes to get here a few times, and it’s always the same. The photo is from a few months ago, but nothing has changed. Pretty disappointing.

The coffee shop truly lives up to its name! I come here between workout classes at Refit, and they always have amazing matcha, wonderful snacks, and such kind staff. I remember once I completely dumped my drink by accident, and they gave me a new one no charge, upsized the drink, and did not hesitate to help me clean it up. I was so embarrassed, but they were so kind just like the name! I love coming here so much and plan to continue to do so!!! Such wonderful humans.
