We enjoyed dinner on the rooftop patio and loved what we ordered. The shrimp cocktail was amazing, the caesar salad had great flavor and the salmon with asparagus was delicious. We also loved our cocktails and everything in this restaurant and hotel is beautiful!

The atmosphere was great, but the food was honestly disappointing. Service was friendly, but slow in all areas from drinks to food and later, dishes. It was well over an hour to get our food which was ordered at the same time as apps. We ordered the rooftop ceasar salad and spinach artichoke dip for appetizers. Would not recommend either, lacking flavor—the spinach artichoke dip was runny and especially bland, although the homemade chips were good. Was almost more like a soup with full spinach leaves in it. I ordered the ribeye, which again, was disappointing at the price point. Honestly struck me as a $25 steak from a local diner, marked up to $60. The salmon was good but very small portion. Lobster mac & cheese side was probably the best thing we ate all night, large chunks of lobster and decent flavor, although still just a bit bland. I really wanted to love this place, but my birthday girl and I both felt the same way after leaving, the food just wasn’t even close to matching the atmosphere and price.

3stars to = 1 star to service, 1 star for atmosphere, 1 star for presentation. But portions are extremely small (the asparagus are supposed to be a sharable side and there’s like 5 of them lol) same thing with entrés. As my first time in Waco, i wouldn’t come back as a big back that i am, having more options around.

From start to finish, this spot was terrific. The shrimp cocktail was huge (8 pieces) which you don't typically get in a shrimp cocktail. The seabass I had was lovely - I was able to sub out the kimchi in my dish (not a fan) for wilted spinach and so much on the menu was gluten free which I 100% appreciate. Also, they brought a special dessert from their cafe downstairs just so I could have a GF Dessert option other than ice cream. But to me, most importantly, our server was delightful and attentive without being in your face (young blond gentleman). As a business owner, I appreciate great customer service!!! Thanks Bertie's for a great evening!!
