We always have the best time at Big Mayberry’s Tavern. Whether it’s karaoke, dancing, or one of their special events, it’s just a fun small-town Texas atmosphere. It feels like one of those local spots where everyone knows everyone and you can just enjoy a good time. I also wanted to add that if you’re on the fence about bringing your kids, give them a call or check out their Facebook page. There are certain events, like their 4th of July celebration, where kids are absolutely encouraged! To give you an idea of what the 4th of July was like: You enter the tavern, and before you’re admitted to the back patio, you pay $10 per person. My husband, our two girls, and I each got a wristband and headed outside. We found a table right next to the stage. We were able to order drinks from the outside bar window, and they had sodas and other drinks for the girls. There was also a separate window serving food. They gave away free hot dogs after the hot dog eating contest (we missed it!) and free 4th of July glow sticks for the kids. Everyone stood while the band played the National Anthem on their guitars before the fireworks. I loved that. I’d say the fireworks started around 10:00. One of the coolest parts was that there were other fireworks shows going on nearby, so we got to enjoy those too. We were so close to the fireworks that it almost felt like we were inside them! The show was fabulous. I’d definitely recommend headphones or ear protection for little ones because it was loud, but honestly…isn’t that part of the fun? Our girls danced the night away while the band played outside. I grew up in small-town Texas, and we went with our parents to places like this all the time. If you used to go to the SPJST Hall, Tom Sefcik Hall, Oscar Store, Ratibor, Cyclone Corral, the Cotton Club, or places like that, you’ll love Big Mayberry’s. And if you never got to grow up with places like that, then go visit Mayberry’s. It’s one of those places that still feels like a true Texas staple.

My friend John owns this place. The atmosphere is relaxing just as you would expect after a long day at work and you want to kick back with friends and have a couple of cold beers. The bands that play here are really good local bands.

Went to a birthday party here. It has a small dance floor, tables to sit at, high tables to sit or stand at, plus the bar. There is seating out on the patio and out by the stage. There is a giant blow up bouncy slide the kids enjoyed! All in all it was a lovely place and I had a great time. Live music, people dancing, playing pool, eating, and having a great time.
