Super disappointed with our visit to BJ’s today. From the moment we sat down, our server, Alexis, was rude and short with us, and the service only went downhill from there. We ordered appetizers and drinks. When Alexis brought the drinks, one was noticeably less than half full, while the other she spilled all over the table. She didn’t offer napkins or anything to clean up the spill, and she also forgot straws. I had to ask another server for napkins and straws. I also asked that server whether my friend’s drink was supposed to be served that way, and she told us it was not and said she would get our server because Alexis was nowhere to be found. When Alexis eventually returned, rather than checking on our drinks or asking how our appetizer was, the first thing she asked was whether we were ready for dessert. We explained our concern about the drink, and her response was, “I don’t know, every bartender makes it different.” I understand that drinks can vary, but my martini was served full while my friend’s was less than half full. Any STANDARD martini should atleast take up 3/4 of a glass. So that’s a lack in consistency between bar staff and it needs to be acknowledged. At the very least, we expected our server to acknowledge the concern and offer to have it corrected. After that, Alexis barely checked on our table. The only thing she consistently asked us was whether we were ready for our checks, despite not checking in on us otherwise? We came in expecting to have a nice experience and would have gone somewhere else if we knew the service would be like this. Mistakes happen, but the lack of attentiveness, communication, and basic customer service is what really made this experience disappointing. We left feeling like our table was an inconvenience rather than valued customers.
