Wonderful park! We had a blast the two weeks we were there. We stayed #14 and had a covered picnic table, fire pit, and a weeeee bit of shade. Not really enough to brag about. Two or three times, we drove up the mountain to watch the sunset and stars but most of the time we stayed at our campsite to watch the Milky Way and the meteor shower. Looked like they had several programs but we didn't take advantage of them. They have two bird blinds that was very well taken care of. The birds were very happy. We went to Indian Lodge for breakfast once, food was good, service was good. I have a strong suspicion that we will be back!!

Here's a polished Google review that captures your experience: If I could give Davis Mountains State Park 100 stars, I would! This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful state parks we've ever visited. We loved seeing the incredible wildlife, including does, aoudads, so many different species of birds, and other animals throughout the park. The history and educational opportunities made the experience even more special. It's clear that so much care has gone into preserving both the natural beauty and the rich history of the park. Everything was well maintained, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to our next visit. We will definitely be back!

Excellent wildlife viewing! Saw Javalina, Barbary Sheep, mule deer and pronghorn antelope. Plus a multitude of migratory and resident birds. Nice bird blinds at the park to enhance photography and great ranger programs, like nighttime star parties and guided walks. Beautiful scenery, nice sites and clean bathrooms with hot showers. Highly recommend

The park is easy to access and well-run. There are lots of various camp sites for tents, RVs, etc. It is quite dry and sunny due to the location - more of a rugged camping experience with shrubs and cacti, not too many trees. There is some wildlife. We saw a number of birds, including a road runner, and a mule deer. We did not stay overnight, just a day trip to do some hiking. It is hot in the middle of the day, especially in the summer, so plan accordingly.
