Pretty large and open spot. Bartender was not very knowledgeable with the drinks but did his best and provided an outstanding service. This place is relatively inexpensive and a grest choi e to hang out with a larger group of people.

We stopped by Freight Bar for the last night of my bachelorette trip, which was themed “Last Night of Independence.” About two months before our trip, I reached out via email to confirm that themed attire was allowed, and I was told it was. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. We were immediately greeted by a bartender who seemed visibly annoyed that we were a larger group and dressed up for the occasion. Rather than welcoming us or even asking about our theme, his first interaction was focused on two members of our group who unknowingly walked in with open beer bottles from another location. We completely understand that outside drinks aren’t allowed, and they were thrown away without issue. However, the interaction itself felt unnecessarily cold and unfriendly. Throughout the short time we were there, the bartender came across as rude, rarely smiled, spent a noticeable amount of time on his phone, and seemed to watch our group very closely. The overall atmosphere made us feel uncomfortable and as though we weren’t welcome. What was supposed to be the fun “last hooray” of my bachelorette week quickly turned into a place we wanted to leave. We ended up staying only about 30 minutes before deciding to go elsewhere because the vibe was so unwelcoming. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that management will address the customer service experience, especially since bachelor and bachelorette groups are common visitors in the area. A friendly and welcoming attitude can make all the difference. On a positive note, I highly recommend Backyard Bar. Their staff made us feel incredibly welcome, embraced our “Granny Night” theme, interacted with our group, and truly helped make the night memorable.

The food trucks stationed nearby offer a tantalizing selection of eats, making it a perfect spot to spend your evenings, especially on Fridays and Saturdays when the place truly comes to life. Another noteworthy aspect is the convenience offered by accepting both credit cards and checks, making transactions seamless and hassle-free. This commitment to customer comfort, coupled with the lively fun atmosphere, makes Austin's On The Avenue a must-visit destination on the east side of I-35. A fascinating tidbit about this locale is its role as a communal hub in Waco, where connections are made, and memories are forged. It's more than just a bar; it's a place where the heart of the city beats the strongest, inviting one and all to partake in the joyous celebration of community and camaraderie.

Interesting venue! We came on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon - it’s probably more enjoyable in warmer weather. It’s a younger crowd of college kids. Quick and friendly service. Good selection of beers on tap. Try the peanut butter tequila shot - it’s surprisingly tasty!

Unless you’re gonna spend $100 a week and get the bartenders attention by begging, don’t bother. Clearly meant for college students willing to waste more money than what I apparently had on me. 100% tip on my first round and still got ignored when being polite and waited and waited, both bartenders saw me and never said anything. what’s the point of getting off work and trying to unwind if the bar you’re recommended to visit by numerous friends treats people going alone like they don’t exist. Bartenders are trash, I’ll be watching sports from home for now on.
