Gen Korean BBQ House

Our first time eating at this local restaurant. The atmosphere is great. The restaurant was very clean and the customer service was fantastic. You had a lot to choose from on the menu. So all in all everyone at our table was very happy. The only thing I would mention is that I would prefer more green vegetables or lettuce to wrap my meat. But I never asked the waiter if they had any. So, I'm not sure, I didn't see it on the menu 🥺😊. Monday seemed like it was a great time to go after 5:00. Not crowded at all. The music was awesome 👍🩷. I would have loved to have a list of songs on the playlist. Overall, five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Our second visit at this local restaurant wasn't the same 😟 For Mother's Day it wasn't as busy with family/people until later on. Our table wasn't large enough for our family of (6) With one burner it would took too long for us to eat all at one time. We had more than one Waiter come to our table which that confused us on what we were ordered and what we were trying to reordering food and sides and refills on drinks. So finally we received our silverware so we can finally eat, for us that only use forks and not Chopsticks. Our table was half and half that use forks and half that used chopsticks. They never received the knife to cut the steak though 😟. Maybe, my adult kids shouldn't have chosen this restaurant for Mother's Day meal. The food was good. It's just the time that it takes to come out the different people they were coming and going from our table to bring out stuff waiting to eat and not all eating together😔. On the way out, not a single greetings on Happy Mother's Day. Thanks for coming in. Three ladies and white shirts were standing at the front door and none of them mentioned anything to our family. Only one lady made eye contact but that's about all. I guess, they're to busy on there phone 😔. A little rude though especially on the amount of money our adult kids spent eating in this restaurant. A lot of little things that we experience this time, Will turns me off from going back into this local restaurants. The main thing to me, is the greeting of the employees to their customers, food presentation and the cleanness of the restaurant. This time it was only the food & two of our table waiters that got the star ⭐⭐. Out of five from the last time.

Absolutely wonderful service! I highly recommend this place. Jacob, the server, and the manager, Woneoo, were absolutely amazing. We bought two of the soju beverages they serve, which were 50% off and 16% alcohol. It was an amazing deal, equivalent to about $150 a case. They’re extremely smooth, and you could drink a whole bottle as if you were drinking a regular beverage. There’s practically no burn at all. When I say run, don’t walk to this place, please do! If Jacob is participating in the festival that’s up for grabs, please request him. It would be extremely fun for him to win, and he absolutely deserves it. If you like alcohol, great food, and amazing service, please come here. It’s right next to the cinema in Waco, so you can catch a movie and then eat some amazing Japanese food. You won’t be disappointed.

Heard about this new place and I took my son out for his birthday. Well my idea of going to a restaurant is to get pampered and not have to cook. I wasn't aware that I had to cook my own food. The waiter was taken care of five different tables so you can just imagine how long it was taking for refills and to get fresh meat to the table. The smoke was embedded in our clothing. With a drink you're going to pay about $60 per person. Sorry but I'll never come back. Casa de Brazil or Fogo de Chao are much better for that price that price.

This was our third visit to Gen Korean BBQ. The first two times were fantastic. In fact, after those visits, I thought I had found my new favorite restaurant. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the entire concept is right up my alley. Unfortunately, our Father's Day visit completely changed my opinion. We arrived around 5:00 PM, and the restaurant was nearly empty. Despite that, my wife, son, and I sat with empty drinks for over 20 minutes with no refills. We also went more than 20 minutes without any food being brought to our table, leaving us with nothing to cook and no server checking on us. What made it even more frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy. Our waiter seemed more focused on bussing tables than taking care of guests. At one point I mentioned the issue, and the customers sitting across from us chimed in because they were also unhappy with the service. I understand that every restaurant can have an off day. If this had been our first visit, I probably wouldn't have written a review. But the service was so poor that it completely overshadowed everything we previously loved about this place. I'm genuinely saddened to write this because I really enjoyed Gin Korean BBQ and had planned on returning regularly. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be back.

Food and services were awesome! From the variety of cuts and flavors. Lots of choices for everyone’s palate. Does get a little hot in there because you’re grilling at your table so dress light. Family had a great time and its added to our Waco favorite places to go.
