I worked out at Golds Gym yesterday! I had a great workout, but what surprised me about this Golds Gym was the General Manager, Ryan Muncie. During my workout Ryan approached me, introduced himself and we started an amazing conversation about health and wellness! Ryan truly cares about his clients and his staff. I want Ryan on my team!

It started out well but just isn’t right for me. I travel for work and it is a pain every time you check in outside of your local gym. The Waco location is dated but not terrible. I thought it was pretty clean. I left planet fitness to go to golds as it is well known. Ryan was cool to me but the no commitment membership has been less than easy to cancel as it was explained to me. The waxahachie location is packed full all hours of the day and it isn’t 24 hours like planet fitness. If you are planning on doing a high intensity workout that isn’t going to happen. Large groups of people just hangout at the machines and socialize or they have a wanna be personal trainer that just talks and talks and talks the whole time. I am not referring to the golds trainers either. Just the randoms in there. Took two emails and a phone call to Ryan to get my personal trainer cost canceled which isn’t that bad, but to cancel my no commitment membership it took 3 additional emails and a dispute through my credit card company. Just when I thought I had put this experience behind I check my credit card statement and there is another charge 10 days later. This amount I haven’t seen before either. At this point the gyms around here are daycares like planet fitness or social clubs as I experienced at Golds. Very frustrating and disappointing. It is what it is I guess. Update 8/3: Well Ryan I was turned into collections ……… for 34$. Really man?!!!! All because you guys had a wrong email even though I have emailed you multiple times. Not sure how that happens. I left a message for you to call me back today but it probably isn’t a good idea that I speak to you.

For over a month now, the stereo in GGX1 has been semi-working (at best) with a muffled sound making it extremely difficult to hear the music/instructor. The GM has failed to communicate to the members AND the aerobic staff when/if the stereo will be fixed leaving the classes to "fend for themselves" with multiple instructors bringing in portable speakers to effectively lead their class/participants. If you want a successful program, the stereo is VITAL for GGX. This is a non-negotiable and should have been addressed the same day it quit working. FIX THE STEREO!

Golds gym should sue the owner of this franchise. Nothing is clean they always run out out cleaning supplies so we can't clean it. Thank God that another company is taking over this building. Also treadmills are old and laggy

I come to this location whenever visiting Waco for work and I have to say the staff are great, incredibly kind and helpful. The facilities however leave much to be desired. There is no access to a pool or sauna, although I’ve heard there is one in this location. And as a female, I prefer working out in the women’s private room. Unfortunately this location does not take care of that area. Pics below are from yesterday and as you can see there are dead bugs all around the floor equipment. The carpet in that area is black. The walls have what seem to be water damage. It’s gross. Again, the people are great but the facility could definitely use some updates.
