Hilton Waco

I had a great experience staying at this hotel. The property was clean, comfortable, and the staff was welcoming throughout my stay. I especially want to recognize Megan for her outstanding customer service. She was friendly, professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure guests felt taken care of. Employees like Megan truly make a difference, and she’s a great asset to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a conference. Was not notified place was under construction, but I read a few reviews prior to my stay so I knew what to expect. It was inconvenient that there was no lobby to comfortably wait around. The parking was not the best as it was taken up by construction work. Elevators were dusty as that was main access for the crews. It was uncomfortable checking in and waiting with nowhere comfortable to wait. Hotel should've been completely shut down for the remodel instead of taking over $200+ per night for each room. The water pressure and water in general was also kind of funky in the bathroom. The sink would fill up with water and not drain or take forever to drain. Meanwhile the shower would be scalding hot, even though the toggle would be pointed to a cooler temperature. This was a weird experience but I would not stay here until renovations are completed. The photos do not match what you get, especially the ones they showcase here with the "huge pool" which was a little larger than a hot tub. The only nice thing about the hotel was the nice view and the bed was adequate for the nights I stayed. It was also close and walkable enough to downtown for a few things, too. Overall don't waste your time with this hotel until they get remodeled.

At the time of this review, this hotel is currently under construction, so adjust your expectations accordingly. The room itself was perfect. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore Waco, especially on foot. Once the construction is complete, this is going to be one of the most happening hotels in Waco. I stayed here to visit the Dr Pepper Museum. I will definitely be coming back.

The renovations are massively impacting the hotel. The location is ok but it is a pain to find the entrance due to the renovations. The elevators are a mess with paint all over. There was a power point hanging out of the wall. The rooms were ok but pretty dated. Staff were the stand out as they were great. At the moment there is better value for money at other near by hotels.

The ONLY decent thing about this hotel was the location. We attended for a conference and while I can give certain allowances for being under construction, the elevators reeked of sewage, and the “newly renovated” rooms were overly basic to the point of lacking amenities befitting the name, feeling a lot less like a Hilton, and a lot more like an overpriced motel 5. It is obvious whoever they paid to manage and oversee this remodel needs to give them a pity refund. The new carpet of choice was a texture that made you have to heave a wheeled suitcase everywhere. It immediately became obvious it was the new carpet, because the second you hit the old carpet, there were zero issues. The bathroom shower had a pitiful “shelf” at shoulder level that might as well have been absent for all the good it did. There was zero room to set anything unless you set it on a similarly tiny bump out at knee level that was clearly meant to serve for a shower seat, but was so narrow and awkward that the only possible option it could have served as was a knee level shelf, because the previously mentioned shoulder level shelf was pitifully useless to the point it doesn’t even feel fair to call it a shelf. The pillows were the talk of the conference, in the worst possible way. I believe a few people even made a midnight Walmart pillow sanity purchase for the sake of a decent nights sleep. Yet another item that feels insufficient to use the word “pillow” for as it was so inadequate that I might as well have tried to sleep with a sheet under my head, because that’s about as thick as it was once it collapsed in on itself. I would strongly encourage senior management to spend a night or two in one of these rooms, because whoever managed this hotel design obviously let AI do 85% of their job, and seems to have never designed a functional space a day in their life that human beings would actually use. Absolutely every aspect of these new “upgrades” Hilton paid for in this hotel should be tested from a functional common sense perspective, because this was my first experience in a Hilton Hotel and I can say without any doubt that you could’ve fooled me that I was supposed to have been staying at a “nicer”hotel, and not a bottom of the barrel Motel 5. Last but certainly not least, are the public restrooms that had toilets were so exceptionally short it felt like using the restroom squarely designed for the height of a 2 year old. Just another example of a hilarious lack of oversight, where absolutely no one stopped to consider that nobody needs to sit THAT low to the floor for a toilet. I’d genuinely give this hotel a zero if that was possible, and I am convinced Hilton allocated their funds into every possible wrong “renovation” that they could have for this hotel.
