Still lots of pretty blooms! Weather was a bit damp, but still enjoyed getting to see the Bluebonnets. Mr. Sly was super nice sharing a few details about the field, and a few feel-good stories from visitors he's encountered. Found a rare white one, and our pup loved prancing around the bonnets...highly recommend coming to see these in April.

Bluebonnet Fields was the highlight of our trip to Ennis and exactly the kind of bluebonnet experience we were hoping for. The place was absolutely beautiful, full of blooming bluebonnets, peaceful, and clearly welcoming to visitors. From the moment we arrived, it felt inviting, and we were so happy to have found it. We also noticed a lovely welcoming sign outside, and learned that this wonderful place is owned by Sylvester Holy. We truly appreciate the kindness and generosity of the owners for opening up such a special spot for visitors to enjoy. That hospitality made a big difference and turned our outing into a memorable one. For anyone coming from Dallas, the drive is less than an hour and absolutely worth it. Bluebonnet Fields gave us the beautiful experience we had been searching for, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gorgeous, welcoming place to enjoy Texas bluebonnets. For first-time visitors, it is worth noting that the visitor center opens later in the day and closes in the evening, making it less helpful for those hoping to visit during the best viewing hours, early morning or late evening. We also found that many bluebonnet patches elsewhere were located within private farms that were fenced off and not accessible to visitors. That is exactly why discovering Bluebonnet Fields felt so special: it was the place that truly delivered and made the whole trip worthwhile.

So 9 miles from Buc-ee's is correct, but is sure feels like it's longer. The owner was on premise and even took the time to talk to us about the various wildflowers and the rarer white Bluebonnets present. We were extremely grateful to have enjoyed this beautiful Texas gift. Unfortunate that other patrons felt no remorse in allowing their children to run off trail and trample Bluebonnets.

Who can be mad when you see this many beautiful blue bonnets. The fact that they turn this hayfield into a public display of Texas beauty is a testament to Texas hospitality. I look forward to enjoying this years in the future.

The best place we found in Ennis to see a natural field of blue bonnets, Indian paintbrushes, primrose, and more all thriving together. If you are near Ennis mid-April, you won't regret stopping by!
