Hotel Herringbone

Room was ok. Unique in how they are built out of shipping containers which I thought was cool and the decor was unique as well. We had a larger room but still, no much in the way of storage to unpack & hang clothing. AC ran all night even though it was sent to Auto & was very loud. Also had a dehumidifier in the room that I had to keep dumping the water out of because if not, the AC didn't work very well. Upon check in the 2 ladies in the lobby were nice. We were told that the free mini bar w/ snacks (which consisted of 1 Dr. Pepper, 1 ginger ale, 1 apple juice, 2 waters, granola bar, sour patch candies, M & M's chips & bag of popcorn) & we could get 2 free drinks (which consisted of either a beer or their choosing or a glass of Prosecco) each night of our stay at the roof top bar. BEWARE, none of it is free. They are covered in the "Amenity fee" which is $25 / day whether you consume anything or not & will not be credited back to you if you don't. Was told that all the hotels are charging this now so that's why they do it too. Had an issue getting 2 lights in the headboard to shut off & had to have someone from the front desk come up to help us out. If you shop at any of the stores onsite, you do get a discount which was nice. We were there for a wedding & bummed we didn't have time to try the Red Herring restaurant as we heard it was good. We try to support non-national chain hotels & seems that they all want to charge an amenity fee now so this is the 1st & last time we will be staying here because of that.

My husband and I absolutely loved the eclectic vibe of Hotel Herringbone — every corner is filled with retro personality, and the color palette and mood lighting was so romantic. The location couldn’t have been better: shopping downstairs was such a treat, Magnolia Market and the Dr Pepper Museum are just around the corner, and the on-site restaurant was incredible (it truly felt like stepping into the '80s). We also had a blast at the rooftop bar, which offers a fantastic view of the silos. It was the perfect quick Valentine’s getaway from Dallas with lots to do and see. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I were so excited to return to Hotel Herringbone for a 2 day trip just the two of us. We stayed here summer 2025 and had a great time. It looks like the hotel has really gone downhill in the last year. We checked in and contacted the front desk almost immediately about the lights by the bed that would not come on, the overhead light in the bathroom that would flicker for a second but stayed off, and the noise from the room above us. No one answered the phone at the front desk and it took over an hour for someone to respond to a text. They brushed off the broken lights by telling me where the light switches were (I knew exactly which light switch to use, they needed new lightbulbs) and they did not comment on the noise. We received a text on the second day while we were out stating they flipped the breaker for our lights and that the lights should work now. As soon as we got back to the room we reached out again about the lights but we were told everyone was gone for the day and they'd look at the lights after we checked out. It was so dark that it was difficult to get ready in the bathroom. I've never stayed somewhere without lights. I again reached out about the noise and they finally responded after 11:30pm saying "your room is directly under the bar and it should quiet down soon". We don't drink so I had no clue we were under the bar and would have never stayed in this room if it had been advertised. I did ask for it to be added to their website for future quests to be aware of and the lady at the front desk said she agreed it should be added. We will not stay at this hotel again, which is disappointing since they had so much promise.

The hotel is an interesting concept. 9/10 for quirky, retro aesthetic. However, this is loudest hotel I’ve ever attempted to sleep in. 1. Loud downtown drunken people party noises probably coming from the rooftop bar. 2. We stayed in their nicest room. Even that didn’t have a proper HVAC unit. It had a window unit that while it cooled fine, was loud. 3. Furniture dragging noises coming from the roof-top bar are rather constant. Imo their top floor isn’t really usable due to the rooftop bar. If you’re determined to stay here, I’d recommend not staying on the top floor if you’re actually looking to sleep. They’re aware of the issue because they provide earplugs which are unfortunately not enough. Not a bad concept overall but definitely not the boutiquey luxury thing they’re going for due to the noise. We should’ve stayed at the 1928 instead.

The bed was clean, the room was spacious. The vibe was nice, the parking was questionable but we personally didn't have any trouble. My wife liked the open air the of the hotel, it had creativity and was easily accessible to downtown and like the restaurant. The water was hot which was nice. The negatives: The tub took over an hour to fill. The water pressure was lacking, but the shower was okay. There were just little details that made the experience less enjoyable overall. The breakfast was hardly a breakfast, we had a better experience at a 'La Quinta inn'.
