My family and I stayed at Lake Mineral Wells last week and it was absolutely perfect! The water was calm and not crowded with boats. The beach was perfect for our girls. Loved renting the pontoon and kayak! Everyone was so sweet at the store/gift shop. Favorite thing had to be the hiking! The camp grounds were clean, everyone was respectful on noise, and overall just a very peaceful vacation!

Beautiful State Park! Did one blue trail near the water, and it was definitely a moderate hike. Easy to moderate. There needs to be more blue markers on this trail. But if you stay close to the water it's okay. Beautiful place to relax, and enjoy the water and lots of hiking! The SCARY part is driving thru the water to get to the camps and shelters and hiking area.

We had site number 005. It was really nice. Close to the water, it is accessible, mainly to fish(there are big rocks). There is a trail that runs close to the site but not close enough to be bothered. This is a very nice park. The damn crossing was amazing. The swimming hike was nice and the store had most anything you would need while camping. The rangers were all very nice and the store workers were fantastic. We will be going back. I will post more pictures soon. The hiking was so amazing there are great hiking trails with unbelievable views.

Such a beautiful state park, and there's so much to do. The staff is friendly and inviting. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. My favorite trail is Penitentiary Hollow. It's unique, and encourages exploration. Sometimes it's hard to find a place that strikes the perfect balance of fun, exploration, learning, scenery, cleanliness and options for variousthings todo. Lake Mineral Wells State Park ticks all the boxes.

Loved everything about this park! Big private sites, interesting hiking along the lake, the fantastic Penitentiary rock climbing area, it's all gorgeous. Clark Gardens and the town of Mineral Wells and bike path to Weatherford-- also must-do's
