The park was beautiful and well laid out. There are more water based activities than trails for hiking, but the site we stayed in was right in the lake with a beach nearby. Campsites were well laid out and not too close by. Restrooms were clean and we'll maintained. Park staff was great, and the location is perfect for anyone coming from Waco or DFW... only 1 1/2 hours away from central dallas

We loved that we had basically the park to ourselves. Cabin was basic, but much better than actual camping during summer. Some pretty views and wonderful spot for bird watching!

I enjoyed this park but I would've liked for the some of the showers in certain campgrounds do have curtains so it doesn't feel like you're exposed. Very easy trails. They only have 2 trails and combined it's a little over 2 miles but other than that it was a nice park. The lake was clear! It would've been nice to take a dip in the water but it was too cold this past weekend. Visited 3/27/26-3/29/26

We love even though we woke up covered in red ants. That was a horrible first. I am huge about clean parks and I love fossils. This place is great. Stayed in both tent for fall camping and cabins which are really low cost but don’t allow dogs. There are also enclosed screen rooms.

One of the most beautiful Tx parks on the water, clean, large & spaced nicely. Lots of oak trees. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Variety of sites to choose from to catch sunrise & sunset over the water. Site 92 Bluebird Loop is on a point with great water views & catching both sunrise & sunset. Electric post is just a hair farther away, site is 90% level. Restrooms are nearby & always clean. 2 under a mile loop trails are nice, wooded paths. ATT coverage excellent.
