Stopped to get food and was met by an employee telling us how they just wanted to walk out and not come back. The conversation was wildly inappropriate about how the owner just left them too much to do and they do not really have anything out. We just left at this point due to have been made to feel guilty about attempting to dine in the restaurant. Not a great experience. Update Stopped by on 08/05/2026 to say hi and I appreciate the response and found the restaurant closed till 08/10/2026 with a paper sign on the door. Will try again next time I head down to San Antonio I realllly want a tasty grilled cheese..

would have loved to try a cupcake, cheese, soup or any of the goodies. I have wanted to try this place since I saw the first ever sign that said cheese house because well CHEESE! so today I was on my way home from Temple thinking of any desert places and saw the sign, so yes let's go. Me and my daughter go inside comment on the cute decor outside. Lady behind the counter is talking to a customer the entire time I was in there so I walked to the back looked at the boutique things and came back up to the case looking at the cheeses. there was a total of three groups of customers. the one who got the ladies at the whole time and her daughter, me and my daughter and two other nice ladies. We were all kinda wanting help but only one got the attention. the two other ladies accidentally opened a freezer which did get attention but not the good kind. she said I will help with that to which they were so embarrassed and apologized profusely. I was finally spoke to after 10 minutes and asked can I help you to which I replied yes well I don't know I have never been here. then I was ignored. I do not know where the cupcakes the lady before me had were even at in the store. I would have loved a homemade treat but I was never helped. So me and my daughter left both feeling like that experience was rude! I can see not everyone feels this way about this place but I surely will never know!

If I could give more than 5 stars, this would easily be a 6-star review. My journey to discovering Lorena Cheese House and its incredible owners, Helena and Andy, began serendipitously during a routine day at work. Helena would often come in, always on a mission to grab a rotisserie chicken, but never too busy to share a kind word. Her warmth and friendliness stood out to me immediately, and over the weeks, I came to look forward to our brief but uplifting encounters. One day, I had the pleasure of meeting her husband, Andy, and I was astonished to find that he matched Helena’s kindness in every way. Andy’s sense of humor and warmth quickly made him someone I looked forward to seeing just as much as his wife. When I asked him why I hadn’t seen him as often, he joked that he simply couldn’t keep up with Helena’s pace. The connection my family and I have with Helena and Andy deepened when my wife, Sanjuana, and I happened to run into them while grocery shopping on my day off. It was a joy to introduce them to my wife, who immediately felt the same positive energy I had experienced. What truly touched us was how Helena and Andy never forgot Sanjuana’s name “a rare occurrence” and it meant the world to her. The fact that they remembered her, especially during her pregnancy, brought her to tears. This small but significant gesture made us feel genuinely valued. True to my word, I finally visited Lorena Cheese House on a day off with my wife and our two boys. From the moment we walked in, Andy greeted us with a smile that could light up a room. His genuine happiness to see us was overwhelming, and it felt like we were visiting old friends. He gave us a tour of their beautiful store, and the energy in the room only increased when Helena joined us from the back, radiating her usual positive vibe. The food, to put it simply, was extraordinary. We indulged in chicken chili soup, a hearty meatball soup, and a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches for our boys. Each dish was crafted to perfection. My Italian panini was a culinary masterpiece, and the cupcake Red Velvet, Strawberry and Cream, and Cookie Monster were the perfect sweet treat to end our meal. However, what truly sets Lorena Cheese House apart is not just the incredible food or the vast selection of desserts, sodas, and cheeses, It’s the people. Helena and Andy have created a place where every guest feels like family. Our visit, which lasted nearly three hours, was filled with delightful conversation and genuine connection, the kind you rarely find these days. My wife and kids keep asking when we can go back, and I couldn’t agree more. Lorena Cheese House is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience. Helena and Andy aren’t in it for the money; they are dedicated to making people happy, and it shows in everything they do. I wish I could do more to express my gratitude for their kindness and the joy they’ve brought to our lives. If you haven’t been to Lorena Cheese House, you’re missing out on something truly special. It’s a place you have to experience for yourself, no review can fully capture the warmth, generosity, and outstanding quality that Helena and Andy bring to their business every day. I hope this captures the essence of your experience and shows your deep appreciation for Helena, Andy, and their wonderful establishment.
