Absolutely beautiful ride to from San Antonio. We took the trail taking you to monkey rock. Be sure to wear proper footwear as it's a very rocky terrain. However was beautiful and lots of areas to stop and enjoy little creeks, and so forth.

My husband and I had our first 3 day backpacking trip with our dog in this beautiful park. There are ample of primitive camping spots to choose from, and nights were peaceful even during the weekend. We hiked 12 miles of trails, which was challenging but so rewarding. I absolutely loved the scenery/views we were greeted after hiking multiple inclines. All in all, it was a great experience that has made me fall in love with backpacking. I highly recommend this park especially for those that want to primitive camp.

This is a beautiful place! Fall is the perfect time to go. Weather is great. There are two trails: East and Maple Trail. East is more rugged. Definitely take good shoes, water, and enjoy the views!

Lost Maples State Natural Area is one of the most beautiful hidden gems in Texas. The scenic drive itself is worth it, and the hiking trails have stunning hill country views, crystal clear streams, and peaceful nature all around. The East Trail was challenging but absolutely rewarding with breathtaking overlooks at the top. Perfect spot for a weekend escape, photography, picnics, and disconnecting from city life. If you go during fall, the maple trees make the entire park look unreal. Definitely one of my favorite Texas state parks!

Hinden gem 💎 Must go but no cell phone service at all and AT&T for emergency services only even when u are the main road to get there no phone services at all. Yes you can camp 🏕 there they have a lake some really nice hiking trails.
