Its fine, but the water is murky, there is some sand but it's got grass growing in it. Make sure you bring your own chairs and canopy, there are no picnic tables and absolutely no shade.

To be honest I don't know how McGregor park wasn't on my list for swimming. We usually go to Temple Lake Park but we went swimming 🏊♂️ at McGregor Park this weekend and it was absolutely quiet, less crowded and just beautiful and peaceful. Definitely my go to from here on out.

Great place for fishing, grilling, and relaxing. Nice free park open 8am to sunset daily. Off the main gravel road, there's a smaller bay on the left and the main lake straight ahead. Awesome fishing in the spring when the white bass are running! You can almost catch them with just an empty hook. We caught a HUGE stringer of white bass using dead ghost minnows found on the shore. Shad also work great - get there early when the wind is blowing towards shore and throw a cast net to get a whole bucket full. Been fishing here for almost 30 years.
