The hotel staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Anytime needed fresh towels delivered, they arrived quickly. I appreciate this staff greatly! The pool was so much fun and our kids enjoyed the free water park as well. The golf cart shuttles made getting around easier. However, for the price you pay, the ceiling in the bathroom should not be peeling and there shouldn’t be mold shower. The 1st night, we didn’t even have hot water in the poorly water pressured shower. It was cold. Normally, I’m a “you get what you pay for” but this wasn’t the case. We paid a great amount of money and the room was just not up to par.

Wonderful experience at the hotel. The room was nice and clean upon arrival. We had one hiccup with the air but they were quick to fix it. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The reservation was made over the phone and the room was exactly as requested. The hotel pool was beautiful and very clean but it was closed one day for unknown reasons. The cafe restaurant was okay. We got the buffet twice which was mediocre and a little overpriced. We ordered on the menu twice and once it was over 30 minute wait for order. We loved the rainforest pyramid and the aquarium pyramid was our second favorite. The discovery pyramid was a waste of money, especially for kids over 5+ years of age. The Garden Restaurant was overpriced and the food was bad (no fish in tacos mostly pickled onion, burnt grilled cheese, fries tasted like fish, and the quesadillas had a weird sauce drowned in it). The waterpark left much to be desired as it really only has a lazy river and wave pool for older kids. There is one slide and a small toddler area.

This place was a major disappointment. Walk in and the lobby was nice.It ended there. Our room has stains on the ceiling the phone didn’t work the fridge didn’t work the air conditioning in the hall on our floor didn’t work. Only one nightstand on only on one side of bed. Small TV we stayed at Home to Home by Hilton the night before. The room was twice as nice and way bigger for half the price. I can’t understand how this place got 4 stars. $129 dollars for a skimpy buffet with pizza and chicken fingers. Asked where the ice machine was since the is no signs telling anywhere, was told by elevator , nope not even close. So had to walk the halls hunting for it. The tiny room it was in felt like a sauna. Hope the shuttle service to the cruise port gets us there in the morning and the air works in the van. The girl at the desk was really nice that’s about the only good thing I can say about this place besides the lobby. Don’t recommend this place whatsoever. 😡

For the past 10 years, my family and I have made our annual Juneteenth pilgrimage back to my birthplace, Galveston, Texas. This year, because of the weather and for the safety of my wife and children, we decided to stay at the Moody Gardens Hotel—and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. From the moment we checked in, Manager Brady and Jennifer treated us like family. They went above and beyond by making sure our two rooms were together so our family could stay close. Brady also convinced me to upgrade to the Pyramid View, and I am so glad we did. Watching the Juneteenth fireworks from our room was an unforgettable experience. Our kids had an incredible time enjoying the Aquarium, the beautiful gardens, the zip line, and riding the golf carts all over the property. There was always something fun to do, and the entire resort felt safe, clean, and welcoming. As a Galveston historian, I truly believe Moody Gardens is one of the greatest family destinations in Texas. Every family should experience it at least once in their lifetime. This was my seventh visit, and it continues to exceed my expectations every time. Thank you to Brady, Jennifer, and the entire Moody Gardens team for making our Juneteenth celebration feel like coming home. We can't wait to return!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Moody Gardens Hotel! The hotel was beautiful, spotless, and had so much to offer for families. From the AMAZING pool to the arcade and discounted access to the attractions, there was always something fun to do. While we were there, they even had a bounce house and family movie screenings by the pool, which made the experience even more special. The location was perfect for us since we were in town for my daughter's travel softball tournament—it was just a minute from the fields. It's also only a short drive to the Seawall, but far enough away to enjoy a quieter, more relaxing atmosphere. Our room was comfortable, modern, and had a Smart TV, which was a nice bonus. We also loved our view overlooking the pool and the iconic pyramids. Housekeeping did an outstanding job throughout our stay, and the entire staff made us feel welcome. We've officially decided that whenever we visit Galveston, the Moody Gardens Hotel will be the only place we'll stay!
