Mother Neff State Park

Great walking/hiking trail. I would say 75-80% in the shade, but still plenty warm out. The spring fed creeks are cool and perfect to dip your feet in our let the dogs last down and chill out. They give great maps at the front that explain all of the history about the CCC. It looked like some great camping and the bathrooms were top notch with updated toilets and showers, as well as fountains with bottle fillers. You could definitely explore the whole thing in a single day, but if you're looking for some local peace and quiet in the wilderness this is absolutely a good spot

This is a real gem, made great by fabulous facilities and park staff. The campsites are unmatched in the TPWD system, with close-by wonderful hiking trails, beautiful wildflowers and the interpretive center was as good as I've seen. To top it off, a multi activity crafting corner for kids. Too good.

Not much around ... A solid 15-20 minutes from any sort of restaurants, stores, etc... For many, this is great, for people that are full time like us, its a bit long of a drive. Park is approx 40 minutes from Waco and Magnolia Market if you plan to stop there for a bit. RV Sites were generously sized with well groomed gravel and concrete pads. Roads were easy to navigate and everything was clean and tidy. Pro's: 1) Generous sized RV Sites. We are almost 50' long and we still had plenty of room to park both of our vehicles in front of our rig. 2) Beautiful patio with well groomed gravel, table, etc... 3) Excellent utilities and the location of everything was great. Easy sewer hookups and no issues with water or electric. 4) Level concrete pad. 5) Bathrooms and showers available for use. 6) Hiking trails through the park. 7) Limited TMobile service but Starlink worked great! 8) Rangers and hosts were real friendly. 9) Great value at $33/night for FHU Con's: 1) Its a bit "out there" ... for many, this would be a plus. 2) Limited cell service. 3) Day use fee which is included with your RV free ($2/per adult) Overall, solid stay. Not sure we ever plan to be in this particular area again, but if we were, we'd certainly stay here again!

A very clean, well kept park. There was a flood a few years ago and part of the park is closed for repair. They do not expect it to be in operation for another couple of years. The camping loop is about .2 miles so it is a small campground, all full hookup. The bathhouse is clean, a bench in each of the two shower stalls, and numerous hooks to hang clothes and towels on. Cleaned everyday and easy walking of every site. There are paths that go between the camping sites to shorten the trip to the restroom. There are a few trails to walk, all relatively clear and some have crushed clay to keep them from being muddy. We saw a wild turkey, a few deer, a lot of cardinals and some humming birds. The bees on the flowers by the rangers station and gift shop were obviously Texas bees. Must have been 1 1/2” long! But they didn’t bother us they were too consumed with collecting nectar. It is close enough to get to Waco for a day trip. We have had a very pleasant visit.

Great State Park, has modern pull thru and back in sites with full hookups as well as picnick sites. Restroom and showers are clean and well kept. Hiking trails were good with some in shade and sun. Lots of bird sightings as well as deer.
