From the moment we arrived, we had such a wonderful experience. Our table wasn't quite ready, but the gentleman who greeted us (I believe he may have been the manager) was incredibly kind and attentive. Unfortunately, we didn't catch his name, but he went above and beyond by offering us complimentary cocktails while we waited, which was such a thoughtful gesture.
Once we were seated, Ana took amazing care of us. She explained the menu, gave great recommendations, and made us feel so welcome throughout our meal. Everything we ordered was absolutely flavorful and delicious. The food, service, and hospitality were all 10/10. We'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this restaurant!

Opal’s Oysters is my favorite restaurant. We have been numerous times and are always pleased. Everything we have had has been delicious however, I could highly recommend the following.
Brunch-breakfast sandwich (that bacon!), crab cake Benedict, prawns & polenta
Dinner-Chilean sea bass, Texas red fish, crab cake, wagyu burger (again, that bacon!), crab fried rice, truffle polenta
Oysters-We ALWAYS prefer East coast. Our favorites are Irish Point, Pink Moon, South Harbor, and Pilgrims Point.
Dessert-Cheesecake with Guava sauce
We prefer sitting on the patio. Even in the Texas summer! It is shaded with fans and misters.
Ashlyn and Maddie are both wonderful waitstaff and Joey is also very polite and friendly. All of the staff are very helpful and courteous.
Thank you, Opals, for having high standards and always making us feel welcome!

Opal’s oysters is a stylist coastal style restaurant located in the downtown area of Waco Texas.
It has generated all lot of buzz here in Waco since it opened. The upscale high end restaurants are plentiful here in Waco, but a seafood restaurant that can usually be found near coastal areas can be a bit tricky here in central Texas.
I finally found my way to experience what all the talk was about. The outdoor dining area is cool, but too hot to enjoy the sidewalk entertainment in August so we sat inside, enjoyed a cocktail that was actually really good.
We ordered the shrimp cocktail, Parmesan fries and the berry salad. The shrimp was pretty ordinary, the fries had lots of flavor. My personal favorite was the berry salad. It was jam packed with delicious fruits, figs and the dressing was superb.
You may want to make reservations, the restaurant isn’t overly sized and lots folks were enjoying the oysters so it’s a win.

Absolutely adore this place! The vibe checked and I was def in my happy place. The food, delish! Our waiter Austin, superb! I did not leave dissatisfied and Austin was very accommodating to us! We had raw gulf oysters with a variety of choices. We indulged in lobster bisque, crab cakes, lobster rolls, with the perfect mocktails! Austin worked with my picky daughter and offered choices for her to be able to eat. And Let me tell you a good mocktail is a must and I value that establishments are being more mindful of people who do not drink alcohol so thank you for being apart of that! It was also my mom’s birthday and they brought out the cutest little cake with candle and hand written note from the staff. Also, loved that the birthday celebration was timeless and dainty not some big hoorah! Of course I had to finish with the lemon tart and a latte to bring it full circle. Over all I know the first place I’m going next time I’m in Waco! Thank you Opals and Austin for such a great experience!
