Poppa Rollo's Pizza - Hewitt Dr.

Food on the floor. Dirty tables. We had to wait 5-10 minutes for someone to clean a table off before we could be seated. They wiped the food off the table onto the floor. We waited for another 15-20 minutes before someone came to even get our drink order. We ordered 1 huge pizza and nachos. We waited 45 minutes on the pizza. Thank God the pizza was good, but we will never dine there again. Nachos were ok.

So incredibly disappointed in our food tonight. Got a works, special, cheese and pepperoni and the only decent topped pizza was the pepperoni. The cheese pizza only had cheese and sauce on half the pizza. The special and works had hardly any toppings. When I called to complain, I was informed they started weighing their pizza toppings therefore the pizzas were no longer topped as they have been in the past. When I asked if I could send pictures in to find out if this is the new “style” of pizza they are serving, Miranda the manager said she doesn’t have an email with the store and she was the only manager on duty and there wasn’t a way for her to get the pictures. As a lifelong Poppa Rollo’s patron, who raised two kids to be patrons, this is exactly how local businesses go out of business. We drove to town, 30 minutes each way, and passed plenty of big brands who could have provided a much better product in half the time. You need to update the pictures on your social media and website because what you’re posting definitely isn’t what you’re selling. Way too much money for way too little.

Party of 2. Walked in the door about 6:30. About 5 other parties were present in the restaurant at their tables, not a particularly busy night. Another party of 2 was standing at the host stand when we walked in. Waited for about 5 minutes to be seated, was about to walk away, the couple in front was talking about leaving as well, when someone came up and said “y'all have already been helped, right?” They seated the couple in front of us, then the hostess said she needed to clean a table off for us. So we waited another few minutes while the hostess cleaned a table, but she didn't sweep and the floor under the table was full of toppings, lemon wedges, all kinds of food and trash. We stood and waited another few minutes for our server to come by and asked her to sweep so we weren't smearing food around. Went to the bathroom while she went for a broom and the men's restroom was not pleasant. Not just dinner rush busy. But layers of dirt and stains that desperately needed a bleach and scrub. Not very appetizing. Two paper towel dispensers and both were empty. About 15-20 minutes in and we were finally seated. Cheese sticks were pretty good and came out quickly, but our waitress forgot our marinara and we had to wait again. Had to switch seats with my wife because the big rip in her booth was catching on her dress. Pizza came out very quickly and was hot and delicious, huge fan of that part of the experience. But our waitress never checked on us after dropping it off, we finished eating, and just sat trying to make eye contact with someone for about 10-15 minutes after eating. Both of our glasses were completely empty for most of the meal. Even when she finally brought our check after we waved her down, we weren't offered a refill, and I wasn't even going to dare to ask, I didn't have that much time to give. We had asked for the check and a to go box after waving her down and she forgot the to go box. The food was great, but the dine in experience was miserable. If I ever eat here again, which is not likely, it will just be for a to go order. The food was great, but don't come here unless you have at least two hours of free time and are feeling very patient.

Visited this location a few days ago and they were severely short staffed. Only looked like one person was running the whole store by herself. Our server was very nice but I noticed customers were handing cash to a little girl helping in the front that couldn’t be much older than 7. (I wonder what the labor laws are on that) And not leaving anything for the server that was running the dining room basically alone. (Yes I snuck a peek at a check on a table as I was going to the disgusting bathroom) Not sure what’s going on there, I’ve been coming to Papa Rollos for years and it has just been going downhill recently. Owners need to hire more staff. I hope the girl busting her butt got the money that she deserved.

PR has been our very favorite pizza for the past 20 years, but ordered a Giant and large Saturday evening. Very disappointed in the pizza- dry and less flavor. Less cheese. I hope you get this fixed- bc it seems the whole place is not going in a good direction
