Residence Inn by Marriott Waco

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Residence Inn by Marriott Waco! From the moment I arrived, everything about this hotel felt welcoming, comfortable, and incredibly traveler-friendly. The location is fantastic—only about a 10-minute walk to Baylor University, which made getting around the area so easy. Whether you're visiting the campus, passing through town, or staying a few days, it’s the perfect spot. My room truly felt like a home away from home. The full kitchen setup was impressive—stove, full-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, dish soap and sponges, plus a coffee setup ready to go. There was also a dining table, work desk, living room area, and a separate bedroom, which made the space feel more like a comfortable apartment than a typical hotel room. It’s perfect for travelers who want space to relax or stay longer. A special shoutout to Ricardo at the front desk—he checked me in and was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly, relatable, and welcoming, instantly making me feel comfortable after a long day of travel. Great hospitality like that really stands out. Overall, this was a fantastic stay in a charming small-town setting, I would absolutely stay here again. If you're visiting Waco and want comfort, convenience, and excellent service, I highly recommend it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mixed visit here. Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Everything else, not so much. Rooms are dated and dirty. Walls are thin, so you get a lot of sounds from your neighbors. Shower drained slow so I had to stand in water every time I used it. My room had ceiling damage. Not enough luggage carts for me to use at either checking in or out. There were ants near the hot breakfast, which ran out of some of the food on my last day, but there were ants so I guess it was a blessing in disguise. It's only getting a 2 because the guy at check in was super cool. I guess if I were younger and wanted to get into the nightlife here, it would have been better. Alas, I'm an old lady and just wanted some rest during a business trip. I would avoid this hotel if you are in a similar situation.

When I walk in to get my room keys, the lady at the front desk was on her phone with feet propped on desk. Clearly didn’t seem to want to be there. Was very short, and quickly spoken and wasn’t willing to be friendly. The breakfast options are severely limited, and quite frankly a joke. Why am I spending $100+ a night for poor options? Not satisfied with breakfast at all. I’ve stayed at other Marriott’s for far cheaper, with more “to date” level interior decorations/amenities, that have better staff, and especially better breakfast. $3 to park? Why not just have better breakfast? Some of their business decisions seem out of date, and quite annoying.

Checked in late but the location enabled us to walk to a choice of restaurants for dinner. Great location, staff is pleasant and professional. Hotel itself is older, and needs some TLC, seems to be common for the Marriott properties I’ve visited recently. Room was ok, and you could see they were trying to keep it up but the towels were badly stained and the HVAC loud. Not enough to prevent us from sleeping after we adjusted to it.

I was looking forward to stay here especially being a bonvoy member but I really wasn’t satisfied. I stayed second week of March 2026. First let me say the pros to this spot it’s kinda close to downtown, Magnolia and other spots within 30 min walk. Magnolia press 11 min walk the suspended bridge 20-25 min depends on speed. I like walking don’t mind especially with gas prices now no biggie, service was nice kind polite not rude at all not faulting them for cons. The full kitchen was excellent for leftovers vs the mini fridge. Now the cons room has a weird smell to it the elevator had a lil drop in it after stopping so I took the stairs I’m not huge either 180lbs. My family looked forward to swimming in pool well it was closed the ceiling was pulled and wall had a semi demo day wish I knew that before. My son and I had a basketball in the car and couldn’t play the backboard was hanging about 30-45 degrees low due to weather I couldn’t take my kids anywhere to swim and pre planning is why I booked hotel because pool was indoors so the swimming on trip was a no-go. Breakfast was sub-par and the fridge in room had so many dents. The pics are very deceiving from basketball court, pool to rooms. They need to budget and remodel rooms and new designs
