SAGRADO COCINA AND BAR

I had higher expectations for Sagrado Restaurant based on what I had heard, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I ordered the quesabirria, but what I received was essentially barbacoa tacos with consommé. The cheese wasn't even melted, which is one of the defining features of a good quesabirria. To make matters worse, the meat contained an excessive amount of fat and chewy connective tissue—the kind that most people would normally trim off and discard. It made the tacos unpleasant to eat. On top of that, the food lacked flavor and seemed to be missing even basic seasoning like salt and pepper. The atmosphere wasn't enjoyable either. The music was extremely loud, making it difficult to have a conversation, and the décor felt very busy and overwhelming. By the time I left, I actually felt overstimulated rather than relaxed after a meal. Overall, the food and the dining experience did not meet my expectations. I really wanted to enjoy this place, but based on my visit, I unfortunately can't recommend it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sagrado Cocina & Bar has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Waco! The atmosphere is amazing. upscale, welcoming, and perfect for a night out with friends, date night, or celebrating special occasions. The drink selection is excellent, with creative cocktails and something for everyone. One of my favorites is the rib eye chicharrón, full of flavor and cooked perfectly every time. You can really tell they put thought into both the food and overall experience. Great service, beautiful ambiance, and consistently delicious food. Highly recommend if you’re in Waco!

Finally came to this place after living here a couple of years. Very clean and ascetically pleasing to the eye. Most important to note: this is NOT Tex-mex but authentic Mexican food ♥️🙏🏽. We went on a Saturday and when we got there it was not very busy but did get busy as we were leaving. Plenty of staff on deck and was attended to immediately. Our waitress was very nice and put together. She answered questions about the food and accommodated us on our request to alter a dish. Our food came in a timely manner. We got chicken Nachos, chicken Thinga Taquitos, and a kids plate. Everything came out plated very beautiful and tasted so delicious. We were very surprised at how full we got before finishing our food. The sizes are a very size. The non-alcoholic drinks we got were good and most had free refills. Also prices were good. The only thing holding me back from giving this place 5 stars is the chips and salsa were lacking. The chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant is what introduces the place and should always have you asking for refills. Hopefully they look into other salsa recipes or even a gravy salsa. With that being said WE WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK FOR MORE! 😋😋😋

Spectacular tamarind margarita 12/10, queso birria was good but portions could be bigger (I ordered extra tacos than what’s listed) and the consume just tasted like grease. Atmosphere is great though and I still liked the food

First off, this is not Tex-Mex. There is a great vibe inside, the restaurant is decorated to inspire relaxation and enjoyment of food. Servers are nice and accommodating. Food is very tasty and mole is excellent. This is a place where you come to enjoy your meal, not a fast lunch.
