Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum

We spent few hours here. The stories and displays are great. The video presentation was pretty good too. There are alot of hands-on exhibits. We enjoyed it.

A very interesting museum starting in old times to the present. Large displays of guns, badges, and pictures. Hall of fame of many rangers. There was also a film about the rangers. There is display of toys and Lone Ranger memorabilia. I particularly liked the Bonnie and Clyde material. They were tracked down by Texas rangers in Louisiana.

Visiting this museum was a great experience to learn about the Texas Rangers. They have many displays and information about various Rangers, current and past. One special treat is that they have guns that Bonnie and Clyde owned. There is a 25-minute walk. I would suggest watching the movie first, which gives you a good baseline before starting the museum.

It's mostly a gun museum that have Texas history attached to Texas Rangers, a few underground casino items, and uniforms of the Texas Rangers that have changed over the years. You need about 30-60 minutes to go thru it, depending on how long you want to stop and read each item.

The kind of hall of fame for true American hero’s of law and order. The items are fascinating for one’s imagination, the stories are confidence and social stability inspiring, and here you will find the art and love of this land, liberty, and justice very well represented. Well worth the stop, good parking, walking areas inside and outside, and nearby to many other great attractions. The gift shop is great and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a short film that captures a bit of the values and work done by our Rangers and, unfortunately, their much needed role in human society. The Lone Ranger Creed is an especially great one for your children: The Creed: "I believe... That to have a friend, a man must be one. That all men are created equal and that everyone has within himself the power to make this a better world. That God put the firewood there but that every man must gather and light it himself. In being prepared physically, mentally, and morally to fight when necessary for that which is right. That a man should make the most of what equipment he has. That 'This government, of the people, by the people and for the people' shall live always. That men should live by the rule of what is best for the greatest number. That sooner or later ... somewhere ... somehow ... we must settle with the world and make payment for what we have taken. That all things change but truth, and that truth alone, lives on forever. In my Creator, my country, my fellow man."
