What a wonderful time, we got there on a day they were recognizing Polynesian culture, and the shows were fantastic. I loved the "sheriff" he was very cordial and made our trip awesome.

This place is definitely worth it if you live in DFW or are just passing through. It has wonderful facts, displays and artifacts from the 1800s - Native American, cowboys, Texas Rangers, and regular life. It is very hands on and every building has activities for kids. I did not expect us to spend several hours here, but we stayed the whole time they were open on Sunday.

Yes, this is a must go. People are awesome. We did find out there is a venue for wedding, parties and meetings. Wish there was larger variety stuff for sale. The Teepees didn't have anything but two logs. Wished there were people to speak with in some of the building. Parking was great. Restrooms nice and clean. We will go back for other social events they have a few dates for chilli cooking contest. They have a few reenactments coming soon. See ya there. Was a good museum also. So ya put on walking shoes and bring your pup (on leash at all times and remember to clean up after them😉) they are dog friendly.

The four indoor Museums (10 Big Bear Native American Indian Museum (2) Douglas Harman Western-Chisholm Trail "Terry Building" (3) Texas Ranger Law Enforcement Museum (4) Civel War Museum. All Have so many Artifacts to see and the people inside each will tell you of the history of the items inside each museum. The old West Town of Wardveille the first county seat of Johnson County in 1854 has 6 actual/replicase of that town one of which is the OLDEST LOG COURT HOUSE in Texas and was located in Wardveille. What a great experience for the whole family.
