Bad food and terrible service. Ordered a pizza where all of it should’ve had mushrooms and black olives and only regular pepperoni on half. Also asked for it to be cooked well done. They did a - as you can see in the picture - not get any of that right and I really did not want the cupping pepperoni. It was pretty doughy and barely cooked so it wasn’t even close to well done. When I went to the counter to bring it to their attention the guy just met me with attitude and told he just cooked what was written down and absolutely did not care.

The Village Pizzaria Slice House & Gelato Bar The name says Slice House… and the moment that tray hits the table, you understand exactly what that’s supposed to mean. I went with the Queen Margherita pizza by the slice… and not just one—two giant slices. And when they say giant, they’re not playing. These aren’t your typical slices… these are cut from a 20-inch pie, wide, long, and heavy enough to feel like a full meal in your hands. The first thing that stands out is the crust. Thin… but not weak. Light… but with structure. A clean char along the edges that gives it just enough bite. You get that slight crunch when you go in… then it softens just enough to carry everything else without collapsing. That balance is hard to get right, and they hit it. Now the Margherita itself… You’ve got that classic red sauce base, slightly tangy, sitting underneath a layer of melted mozzarella with those creamy white pockets laid across the top. Then the finish—fresh basil and a drizzle that ties it together visually and flavor-wise. It looks like something you want to eat before you even think about how it tastes. And when you pick it up? It holds. No flop. No mess. Just a clean fold if you want it… or straight up if you don’t. Halfway through the first slice, it already feels like you’ve had a full meal… and there’s still another one sitting there. That’s where the value shows up. This isn’t a “grab a slice and still be hungry” situation… this is lunch handled. But here’s where things get interesting. You look up at the menu boards and see everything: • pizzas • calzones • pasta • subs • starters • pizza bowls And then right there in bold… GIANT SLICES That’s the identity trying to break through. Because the slice I had? That’s the experience. That’s the thing people should walk in expecting. Instead, it’s surrounded by everything else. And what happens when everything is presented the same way? Nothing stands out. Which is wild… because the slice does stand out. Now let’s talk about the surprise. The fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. Soft, warm, loaded with chocolate… the kind that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. That’s an easy add-on that can turn a simple slice run into something people remember. And then there’s the gelato… It’s in the name… but it’s not showing up in the experience. Nobody’s talking about it, and it’s not pulling attention. When something is part of the title, it should feel like part of the moment. Right now, it doesn’t. So here’s the bottom line. The Margherita slice delivered. The crust was right. The portion was real. The execution was solid. And those giant slices? That’s the whole play. That’s the reason to come. Everything else is just… around it. ⸻ Final Take If you’re looking for a big, thin, charred, well-balanced Margherita slice that actually fills you up… this place delivers. But if the best thing on the menu is the giant slice… why isn’t that the only thing they’re making impossible to ignore?

Stopped by Village Pizzeria at Union Hall and grabbed a cheese pizza. The slice was huge, the service was quick, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. What really keeps me coming back is the sauce. There's just something about a good tomato sauce that hits the spot, and theirs is excellent. Pizza has always been comfort food for me, and this one definitely delivered. Great flavor, generous portions, fast service, and a smile at the counter. Hard to ask for much more than that. I'll be back. 🍕

The wife, kids and I came to the union hall to get some food and I decided on the honey hot pie and it was absolutely amazing. Tasted so fresh and amazing. The 2 women working had a very big party from a volleyball team in front of me and it still only took 20 min. Well worth the wait, I can't wait for the next time.
